The Welsh Dragon Series
The WELSH DRAGON SERIES has developed from the
3 year old grass championship race previously run at Tregaron. The Tregaron 3yo Grass Championship was one of
the highlights of the Tregaron meeting and it is from that race that the Little
Welsh Dragon was developed. By now the
Little Welsh Dragon has developed into a series of aged stakes races for two,
three and four year olds. Foals born in
2014 will become part of the
WELSH DRAGON SERIES XIV.
The first DDRAIG FACH GYMREIG/LITTLE WELSH DRAGON (for 3 year
olds) was run in August 2004, by now the
series features at both the Tregaron meetings and is now split into separate
divisions for colts/geldings and for
fillies:
THE JUNIOR WELSH DRAGON for
2yo colts & geldings is run at the Treagron August Festival Meeting
THE JUNIOR WELSH DRAGONESS for
2yo fillies is run at the
Treagron August Festival Meeting
THE LITTLE WELSH DRAGON for 3yo colts &
geldings is run at the Treagron August Festival Meeting
THE LITTLE WELSH DRAGONESS for
3yo fillies is run at the Treagron August Festival Meeting
THE SENIOR WELSH DRAGON for
4yo colts, geldings and fillies is run at the Tregaorn
May Spring Meeting
Horses are nominated when they are foals, followed by payment of
sustaining fees at different times. ONLY horses that are fully paid up (or
supplemented) are eligible to race in the WELSH DRAGON SERIES
WELSH DRAGON SERIES X ~ FOALS BORN IN 2010 will be
eligible for the
2014 SENIOR WELSH DRAGON (4 year olds) horses eligible
providing the payments maintained up to March 2013 or
supplemented thereafter

WELSH DRAGON SERIES XI ~ FOALS BORN IN 2011 will be
eligible for the
2014 LITTLE WELSH DRAGON (3yo colts & geldings) / LITTLE
WELSH DRAGONESS (3yo fillies)
and 2015 SENIOR WELSH
DRAGON, providing the following payments are maintained

1st Sustaining
Fee £50 was due by 1st

2nd Sustaining Fee NEXT
PAYMENT £50 is due by 1st March 2014 (any horse that has paid this sustaining fee
is eligible to enter 4yo SWD May 2015)

is due by 13th Aug 2013 (3yo LWD held
