GO RACING, GO HARNESS RACING!
Harness Racing has a long an established tradition in mid-Wales, by now the county of Ceredigion plays hosts to the richest and most prestigious harness race meetings in the UK. During the summer months hundreds of horses and thousands of spectators from Scotland, Ireland, England and Wales make their way to some of most beautifully situated race tracks in the UK. The tracks are all half-mile grass tracks, ensuring that as a spectator you are never far from the action. Witnessing these magnificent racehorses at close proximity, with about 10-12 races on the card, there is plenty of entertainment for the whole day. A fun day out for everybody, don’t be left out, do something different … GO RACING, GO HARNESS RACING!

TREGARON
TROTTING CLUB
The season kicks off with the Spring Meeting in Tregaron, an opportunity to see last years top 3 year old
horses returning to set their mark in the 4 year old Senior Welsh Dragon;
experienced campaigners do battle in the Spring Handicap heats and Final (an
early season test of fitness). This
will also be an early season opportunity to see the best of the best fight it
out in the season’s opening Free For All.
CEREDIGION
TROTTING CLUB
There will have been plenty of racing throughout the
country in May and June and so by July expect to see over 300 horses and their
connections descend on the seaside town of Aberystywth for
Ceredigion Trotting Club’s “Weekend of harness racing not to be missed!”
CTC have ensured that 2012 will once again be a racing
packed 3 day meeting The 3 day meeting will host their prestigious heats &
Finals and highly competitive 3 year old races. Plenty of racing of the highest calibre for everyone.
TAN Y CASTELL HARNESS RACING CLUB
By the first week of August we return again to Aberystwyth for the Tan Y Castell meeting. A smaller more
relaxed meeting but no less competitive.
A full race card of 15 or so races which culminates with the ‘Coron y
Castell’ Final. But before the final be
sure not to miss the Clwb Cardigan Bay Members Race, a race that is becoming
increasingly popular were winning is important not the taking part!
TREGARON
TROTTING CLUB
As the bank holiday weekend approaches, then all
roads lead to Tregaron for the 3 day August
Festival of Harness Racing. The 3 days are action packed
with feature races on each day including the 2 yo Junior Welsh Dragon and the 3
year old Little Welsh Dragon; The Electric Mile Free For All for the countries
fastest and richest performers and the 3 Handicap heats & finals – The Cors
Caron Cup, The Strata Florida and the absolute jewel in the crown ‘The Welsh
Classic Final’. Live TV coverage on
S4C’s RASUS programme.
LAMPETER
HARNESS RACING CLUB
After the hustle and bustle of August, the first
Saturday in September is an opportunity to enjoy a day out in the Aeron Valley
at Lampeter Races at Talsarn. A
new successful meeting, which hosts
competitive racing once again in a beautiful setting. As the season draws to a close owners/trainers are keen to ensure
that they get a few more wins under their belts, so be prepared for some very
close finishes. The last final of the
season in the county and the last opportunity for those Cardigan Bay Members do
lay their claim on the Members race.
